Of the eight million people that tobacco kills every year, an estimated 1.3 million are non-smokers who are exposed to second-hand smoke. The “free choice of responsible citizens” (tobacco lobby language) deprives non-smokers of their free choice as responsible citizens to live tobacco-free. This is why non-smoker protection laws exist. That is why we must ensure that they are obeyed.
